- Dr. David Kish
A native of Hershey, Pennsylvania, Dr. David Kish was appointed Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music at Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2005. Dr. Kish conducts the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and teaches conducting and music education courses. He serves as a Faculty Fellow in the Center for Innovation and is founding director of the Metro State Wind Band Celebration.
Prior to his appointment at Metro State, Dr. Kish served as Associate Director of Bands and Franklin Fellow at the University of Georgia. His writings on wind literature, conducting pedagogy, and music education have been published in The Instrumentalist Magazine, Journal of Band Research, Music Educators Journal, Tempo, CBDNA Research Report, and the Georgia Music News.
Dr. Kish has been on the Summer Music Camp Faculties at the University of Alabama, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and was Associate Director of Summer Camps at the University of Georgia.
Dr. Kish earned the Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in Instrumental Conducting and Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and the Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
